The homework corner5/22/2023 Similarly, it would be unreasonable to expect all kids to jump from doing homework with adult supervision to being completely autonomous. Kids don't go from crawling to running they take one step, then a few steps, etc. A child will initially say one word, then a few words, then short phrases, and so on. We all know that young children don't jump from not speaking at all to speaking in full sentences. Highly challenging work should be saved for the classroom, with an experienced teacher guiding the student. Ideally, to achieve these goals, homework should be mildly to moderately difficult. Secondly, it supports the development of organizational skills, time-management skills, and most importantly independence. Firstly, homework reinforces mastery of academic skills initially taught in class. So, to start, what is the purpose of homework? Most educators would agree there are two main answers. It's easy to get lost in the frustration of homework and forget why it's even part of the school experience. Please interpret this post however it may be most beneficial for you and your family, shifting ideas and suggestions to fit your child's needs.
